Physiotherapy
What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a traditional type of treatment that uses physical means to help alleviate pain, restore ranges of movement and increase muscle strength. The aim of the Physiotherapist is to return their patients to normal day-to-day activities.
A Physiotherapist will use a number of different techniques during the treatment, including manipulation and mobilisation of joints, soft tissue massage and sometimes, in the case of very acute conditions, they will use modern electronic equipment to reduce inflammation and pain and promote healing. These techniques are accompanied by a variety of different exercises, such as core stability, Pilates, strength and conditioning and stretching in order to optimise the treatment and help speed up the recovery. We can also use Video Motion Analysis to assess your posture and gait (the way you walk/run/work) and help to identify the underlying cause of the injury.
At CMK Therapy we place great importance on listening to you and taking time to discuss the findings of your assessment with you, helping you to understand what is going on. After we have reviewed your assessment and explained the diagnosis we will propose and agree on an individually designed personal treatment programme to achieve the best possible results for your specific condition or injury.
