Rehabilitation

rehabilitationWe fully understand and believe that complete rehabilitation alongside addressing the root cause of your pain is the key of success. Therefore, all injuries require active rehabilitation in order to safely and quickly regain your previous level of function and to help prevent reoccurrence.

Exercise is a vital part of the rehabilitation process for:

  • most sporting injuries (for most sporting injuries, complete rest is very rarely necessary)
  • recovering from an operation
  • a lot of back and neck problems
  • many other musculoskeletal problems

We focus on adopting training methods that do not stress the injury so an athlete is able to maintain their levels of fitness, or an individual can continue at their job.

When people visit our clinic, they will be given specific strengthening and flexibility exercises. Exercises are included in rehabilitation programmes to ensure the injury site returns to a fully functional state and to ensure that the cause of the injury is identified so reoccurrences are kept to a minimum or completely eliminated.

Our Physio’s are specialists and are highly experienced in rehabilitating all types of surgical or non-surgical injuries from the acute stages to the very end stage. Therefore, you may have more than one specialised Physio’s looking after you during your recovery.

With our fully equipped gym for rehabilitation and our knowledge and experience we believe we are fully able to bridge the gap between the Physiotherapists couch and the return to sport or full function.

We also believe in getting coaches/trainers involved in this process and for those with work related injuries we also offer ergonomic advice of which we have again considerable experience and qualifications.

Depending on the type of injury and individual lifestyles, some people need very little rehabilitation, but for those who require a high level of fitness, we have experienced and qualified professionals who can offer strength and conditioning, core stability, rehabilitation and movement analysis.

The idea that someone is completely cured once the treatments on the therapists couch are over is simply outdated.
