Suffering with Knee or Leg Pain?

Knee pain is extremely common as the knee is a very vulnerable joint.  It relies very heavily on the joints and muscles around it to be working and functioning properly.  If they are not, more pressure is placed on and through the knee.  This is why it is possible to damage ligaments around it, the cartilages (meniscus), which act as shock absorbers, or the joint surfaces.

Unfortunately, the knee is one of the most common joints to suffer from osteoarthritis and many people, as they get older, start to find that their knees tend to stiffen and get more painful and even start swelling up on occasions.  

We also have extensive experience in diagnosing and treating other types of leg pain such as hamstring, quadricep or calf pulls, groin and Anchiilles strains. 

What we can do to help

After a thorough assessment to identify the cause of the knee pain or instability, we can help to improve function of the knee and reduce pain and swelling. We use both exercise and hands-on treatment, which includes soft tissue massage and mobilisation to help you return to the activities you enjoy. Also, strengtening the muscles around the knee is vitally important for long-term health of the knee.

Other things that can help address knee issues are advice around correct footwear, weight-loss, coping strategies, posture and appropriate exercise.

For leg pain, again we follow the pattern of diagnosis followed by hands-on treatment and rehabilitation regimes to get you back to normal as quickly as possible.
