Everything you need to help you to get back to doing the things you love most walking, gardening, playing sport.
We are a relaxed and friendly Clinical Team but very professional and committed to what we do, making sure we never stop studying and learning so we can be sure we are the best at what we do.
We are supported by a great admin team who are there to make your time with us as pleasant and as easy as possible.
Meet the Clinical Team
MARK CONWAY (CLINICAL DIRECTOR)
Clinical Director, Physiotherapist and Ergonomist
My name is Mark Conway and I am the owner of CMK Therapy. I have been a Physiotherapist and Ergonomist for 18 years and, following a number of years working in the NHS, at private clinics, directly with companies and with professional sports teams, I took the decision to start my own private clinic, CMK Therapy, in 2008.
My aim was to build a private practice with a first class service, focusing on returning people to their full potential. The body is an amazing object and the days of saying “Rest and Take Painkillers” should be a thing of the past.
I am pleased to say I have a fantastic team of professionals working with me and a truly efficient and friendly admin team to back us up. I truly believe we provide the number one Physiotherapy service in the area.
I enjoy treating work-related injuries, especially office workers, and those in the 40-65 age bracket who are starting to get what I call “worn-out injuries” like dodgy knees, creaking backs and stiff joints.
In my fifties now and a life-long sportsman, I know how important it is to keep ourselves flexible and mobile to ensure a more pain-free and enjoyable life.
Your body is for life and we need to keep you moving.
Physiotherapist and Acupuncturist
I have a Masters Degree in Physiotherapy and an Undergraduate Degree in Exercise Science (Health and Rehabilitation). I am currently studying towards a Diploma with the Society of Musculoskeletal Medicine.
I have a wide range of skills to treat most types of injuries, back, necks, shoulders, hips, knees and ankles. My diagnostic skills are excellent and I have all-round skills in manual therapy (mobilization of joints and muscles) and rehabilitation. I am also a trained Acupuncturist. Acupuncture can be fantastic for pain relief.
I enjoy treating all types of people from teenagers to senior citizens.
Outside of work I play hockey and am currently in the English National Premier League so I understand the demands and fitness levels of top-class sportspeople.
I have a keen interest in lower back pain and exercise-related injuries, although I see all types of injuries in a typical day.
I believe in an holistic approach to injuries and believe that the whole person rather than just the injury itself has to be addressed. To help me to do this I am trained in Nutrition, Clinical Pilates and Personal Training.
I have worked with a wide range of sportspeople from professional footballers to ballet dancers.
I love to keep fit myself and relax by fishing and walking.
Clinical Rehabilitation Specialist and Sports Therapist
I am the 'go-to' person for all our rehabilitation, whether it is to massage aching muscles due to overdoing it in the gym or in the garden or from sitting at a desk all day. I can provide the rehabilitation to strengthen your back up so you can return to sport or to strengthen that shoulder that has been painful and weak for so long.
I am also in charge of the Clinical Pilates classes at CMK Therapy and run four classes a week as well one-to-one and one-to-two sessions. I also conduct running gait analysis.
I love my job and I hope that comes across when I am treating my patients. I like to keep fit and help others to get back to full fitness too.
Meet the Admin Team
Recently made Practice Manager. Jo has been with us for eight years and knows the running of the clinic inside out and is often found under a mound of paperwork! She is a keen netball player outside of work.
Wherever there is a great practice there is a great receptionist. Sue greets everyone with a smile and always goes to great lengths to ensure everyone is happy.
